Designed by NASA, memory foam is made from viscoelastic. It absorbs energy, moulds to the body, and evenly distributes body weight. It’s this last factor that makes it a particularly good solution for back pain. It’s also comfortable and soft. The only problem is, memory foam can retain heat.
That’s why we’ve used gel-infused memory foam in our mattress. Gel microbeads improve the mattress’s durability and ventilation, meaning you won’t get too hot at night.
Why are pocket springs so good?
Pocket spring systems provide the best support. They ensure minimal partner disturbance. However, some people find a spring mattress to be uncomfortable. That’s why we’ve paired our pocket spring systems with memory foam. Memory foam gives you comfort, while pocket springs provide the support.
What mattress firmness is best for back pain?
Mattress firmness is entirely dependent on your preferences, but most people need a medium-to-firm mattress for the best support. While a soft mattress can be deliriously luxurious, it doesn’t provide ongoing support. Our mattress is relatively firm, but with a cashmere knitted fabric topper, so it’s still comfortable.
What is the best mattress for side sleepers with back pain?
If you sleep on your side, and you suffer from back pain, you’ll need pressure relief for your shoulders, hips, and pelvis. Side sleepers need a soft mattress top. This lets your body sink in far enough to align the spine, and means that there’s not too much pressure on any one spot. At the same time, the mattress needs enough firmness, so your spine isn’t misaligned in the other direction.
