Warranty & Guarantee

Sleep Republic Pty Ltd provides warranties for the products listed below which are purchased online from https://sleeprepublic.com.au. All warranties commence on the date the product was originally delivered to, or collected by the purchaser and is valid only to the original purchaser of the product as indicated on the original sales invoice.

The Mattress

Sleep Republic provides a 12 year warranty on The Mattress sold online. This warranty covers;

  • Faulty workmanship or materials.
  • Body impressions or visible indentation or sag in the mattress surface, while no weight is applied, of greater than 3.5cm.

In order for the mattress to wear evenly we recommend rotating the mattress 180 degrees every 2 weeks for the first month then once every month for the duration of the warranty period. Failure to rotate your mattress may cause the mattress not to wear evenly and will void the warranty.

This warranty does not cover

  • Normal wear and tear from use.
  • Minor imperfections that do not affect the performance of the bed. These include slight variations to size and colour.
  • Odour. Some materials have a natural or new odour.
  • Damage caused by incorrect opening of the mattress or failing to follow delivery and unpacking instructions.
  • Handles (where fitted) should only be used to position the mattress and should never be used to carry the mattress or support the full weight of the mattress.
  • Use for commercial, rental or other business purpose (including but not limited to hotel use, Airbnb etc.). In such cases the warranty period is 12 months.
  • Damage caused by abusive handling, misuse.
  • Failing to use the mattress with the proper foundation or base that has support including centre support.

A waterproof & breathable mattress protector is highly recommended at all times of use.

For optimum support Sleep Republic recommends a solid straight timber slat base to be used as the foundation underneath the mattress. Alternatively a firm flat surface with adequate breathing holes can be used. The foundation that supports your mattress is a very important element to ensuring the longevity of your mattress as mattresses always follow the foundation that they rest on. For this reason, any curved or flexible type slat system or sprung bases are not suitable as over time the mattress may bend or flex with the movement that these types of slats/bases provide. Gaps between slats should not exceed 8cm uncovered or 10cm fabric covered as gaps exceeding these widths will not provide adequate support to the mattress and the pocket spring system.

The Pro Base

Sleep Republic provides a 5 year warranty on The Pro Base sold online. This warranty covers;

  • Faulty workmanship or materials

This warranty does not cover;

  • Normal wear and tear from use.
  • Minor imperfections that do not affect the performance of the base.
  • Damage arising from abnormal use, or abuse – for example, incorrect assembly or walking or jumping on the base.
  • Odour. Some materials naturally have an odour.
  • Use for commercial, rental or other business purpose (including but not limited to hotel use, Airbnb etc.). In such cases the warranty period is 12 months.

The Original Base

Sleep Republic provides a 3 year warranty on The Original Base sold online. This warranty covers;

  • Faulty workmanship or materials

This warranty does not cover;

  • Normal wear and tear from use.
  • Minor imperfections that do not affect the performance of the base.
  • Damage arising from abnormal use, or abuse – for example, incorrect assembly or walking or jumping on the base.
  • Odour. Some materials naturally have an odour.
  • Use for commercial, rental or other business purpose (including but not limited to hotel use, Airbnb etc.). In such cases the warranty period is 12 months.

The Pillow

Sleep Republic provides a 6 year warranty on The Pillow sold online. This warranty covers;

  • Faulty workmanship or materials

This warranty does not cover;

  • Normal wear and tear from use.
  • Minor imperfections that do not affect the performance of the pillow.
  • Odour. Some materials naturally have an odour.

The Down Pillow (discontinued)

Sleep Republic provides a 3 year warranty on The Down Pillow Sleep sold online. This warranty covers;

  • Faulty workmanship or materials

This warranty does not cover;

  • Normal wear and tear from use.
  • Natural settling of the down fill which is corrected by regular ‘fluffing’ of the pillow.
  • Minor imperfections that do not affect the performance of the pillow.
  • Odour. Some materials naturally have an odour.

The Sheets

Sleep Republic provides a 12 month warranty on The Sheets sold online. This warranty covers;

  • Faulty workmanship or materials

This warranty does not cover;

  • Normal wear and tear from use.
  • Minor imperfections which do not affect the performance of the sheets.
  • Slight variations in colour which may naturally occur over time.
  • Odour. Some materials naturally have an odour.

The Dog Bed

Sleep Republic provides a 12 month warranty on The Dog Bed sold online. This warranty covers;

  • Faulty workmanship or materials

This warranty does not cover;

  • Normal wear and tear from use.
  • Minor imperfections that do not affect the performance of the Dog Bed.
  • Odour. Some materials naturally have an odour.

The Tencel Mattress Protector

The Tencel Mattress Protector is manufactured by Protect a Bed (Sleep Corp Pty Ltd) who provides 10 Year Stain-Proof Mattress Guarantee. Should the mattress sleep surface stain while properly covered by the protector, Sleep Corp Pty Ltd will either have the mattress professionally cleaned, or replace the mattress with one of comparable quality and value if it can not be cleaned. In order for the 10 Year Stain-Proof Mattress Guarantee to be valid and for the customer to make a claim The Tencel Mattress Protector must be purchased with The Mattress and be listed on the same original invoice/order. GENERAL INFORMATION

Any repair or replacement under warranty/guarantee will not extend the period of warranty/guarantee or begin a new period of warranty/guarantee.

We reserve the right to choose between repairing and replacing the item. Components may vary in style, colour and material from the original.

Sleep Republic reserves the right not to handle item and or void the warranty/guarantee if, in its opinion, they have been tampered with or misused by the purchaser beyond reasonable wear or if the product has been physically damaged intentionally or due to accident and/or neglect: including burns, cuts, water/liquid damage, mould, stains, soiled by blood or urine and if it is unsanitary.

Return/Removal/Disposal of products covered under warranty:
If a product is eligible for a warranty claim and a replacement product is to be sent, Sleep Republic will endeavour to organise for the faulty product to be picked up and returned to us in Melbourne or taken to a recycling partner. In some cases, especially in non metro areas, where a return transport service to Melbourne is not available or no recycling partner is available we may ask you to drop off the faulty product to the closest transport depot of our choice or in the last case to your local tip.

This warranty/guarantee is not transferable and is only available to the original purchaser. This warranty/guarantee is given in addition to any consumer guarantees provided by law.

For other products sold through https://sleeprepublic.com.au such as The Mattress Protector the applicable warranty/guarantee is the manufacturers warranty accompanying those particular goods.

Other important things to note about Warranty Claims:
 
Body Impressions/Indentations
Small indentations are normal on the surface of any new mattress whilst the upholstery filling is levelling to a final position and getting used to your body contours. This does not constitute a manufacturing fault. On a pillowtop mattress, up to 35mm height loss is considered normal. On a non pillowtop mattress, up to 30mm height loss is considered normal.

Exclusions
Sleep Republic specifically excludes from the warranty; 
• Minor manufacturing anomalies that do not impact the performance of the products ie. mis-stitching or loose stitching on quilting.
• Mattress fabric (including soiling, stains, burns, pilling, or loose covers).
• Normal Body indentations.
• Issues relating to comfort choice, ie the mattress is too soft or too firm.
• Issues relating to temperature.
• Issues relating to new product smell/odour.
• Handles (where fitted) – these should be used only to position the mattress and should not be used to support the full weight of the mattress.
• The fit of manchester items.
• Mattress damage due to an inappropriate foundation.
• Damage due to incorrect storage of products.

Return/Removal/Disposal of products covered under warranty
If a product is eligible for a warranty claim and a replacement product is to be sent, Sleep Republic will endeavour to organise for the faulty product to be picked up and returned to us in Melbourne or taken to a recycling partner. All foam is CertiPUR-US®certified.

All mattresses that are returned are donated to Salvos or Recycled.
